About Purpose of Position: Engineering Assistant Discipline Specific Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
Your day-to-day duties will include:

Good house keeping
Material & workshop machinery & equipment control
Use of Engineering tools
Loading, dispatching material & equipment to work sites
Providing assistance to all trades (Artisans) with activities within and without the team.
Ensuring tool availability
Following work instructions
Ensuring proper understanding of the required actions
Applying recognized work and safety standards
Ensuring that members work together as a team while completing tasks
Ensuring that tasks are completed to required quality standards
Ensuring that material is not unnecessarily wasted
Ensuring that all required tools, material and spares are available to perform tasks
Communicating to artisans any unexpected problems
Effective two-way communication with team members
Helping operational employees to maintain equipment in area of responsibility
Accompanying artisan when inspecting and completing tasks
Promoting safety awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying unsafe work practices
Reporting any safety related issues to the artisan or full-time safety rep

Qualifications:
Grade 12- Maths and Science/ or N3 with Mathematics and Science
Communication in English
Driver’s license
