Job Description:
The role is responsible for providing accurate cost & financial information and appropriate guidance that will assist in managing the business planning and cost analysis processes for the respective business units. This entails data analysis, cost planning and forecasting, stakeholder engagement, formulating scenarios and reporting deliverables which provide comprehensive insight.

Responsibilities will include the following:

Cost Accounting, Revenue, Financial and Budget Controls

Plans, co-ordinates, uploads and scrutinises the working cost budget and forecast inputs aligned to scope requirements, management directives and Group guidance.
Ensures that adequate governance and system related controls exist that will allow for the preparation of a valid & complete budget and forecast submission.
Analyses and provides commentary on variances between forecast, actuals & budget and makes recommendations to management where necessary.
Reviews final commercial cost close-out and submits accurate billing requirements timeously.
Maintains the projects system for the unit whilst ensuring appropriate budget control measures are adhered to.
Providing advice on cost accounting matters to key stakeholders.
Month End Reporting

Performs month end procedures on SAP including running settlements, assessments and journal postings.
Preparing monthly management cost reports and advising on appropriate interventions to improve cost effectiveness.
Analyses cost variances, prepares performance reporting commentary and financial presentations.
Business Improvement: Systems and Processes

Continuously examines the appropriateness of existing systems and processes against the possibility of improved efficiency and implementing changes as required.

Anglo American Junior Cost Accountant Job Requirements

Anglo American Junior Cost Accountant job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Accounting degree with a completed CIMA qualification
Knowledge and experience required:

Appropriate experience in financial and cost accounting.
At least 3 years of work experience.
Financial analysis aptitude and ability to provide quality recommendations and solutions.
Systems knowledge – Excel Advanced and SAP system would be advantageous.

Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information and innovative ideas.
Be able to work efficiently with unquestionable accuracy whilst ensuring that tight deadlines are met.
Ability to work in a team and contribute to team success by actively participating as a member of the Finance team to achieve team goals.
