About Purpose of Position: Maintenance Operator GR Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
As a Maintenance Operator Gr 2, you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include:

Adhering to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
Supporting plant personnel by ensuring that the necessary plant and equipment maintenance preparations and maintenance tasks are done in accordance with SMP (Standard Maintenance Practice) to contribute to the achievement of improving work practices and operational targets.
Continuously monitor maintenance progress and related preparation activities against planned schedules to meet operational targets, minimize downtime, enable timely reporting and enhance plant efficiency.
Removing and replace the wear plates, ensuring work is executed as per Operating Model standards & procedures.
Ensuring all toolboxes and tools are kept in good condition and proper communication and handover on outstanding tasks between shifts and day shift teams.
Assist with maintenance (the changing of grease bulkers, diesel nozzles, pipes etc)
Assisting Artisans with effective maintenance of equipment and related machinery to ensure optimal utilisation
and availability toward maximising production and throughput schedules.
Providing assistance according to own level / area of competence and in accordance with company policies to the Supervisor and co-workers when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person, to ensure achievement of functional objectives.

Do pre-shift inspection of vehicle, equipment, machines, machine parts, and / or components to check functionality and safety to ensure injuries and damage to assets are prevented and that operations occur within prescribed processes, procedures and standards.
Continuously observe and monitor equipment / vehicle performance against standards to identify non-conformances or deviations to the direct Supervisor to ensure defects are followed up and attended to.

1 Year operational experience in Maintenance
