About Purpose of Position: Metallurgical Analyst Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
Hardness and Density Measurement, according to work instructions
Magnetic Saturation and Coercivity measurement, according to work instructions
Sample preparation – mounting, grinding and polishing, according to work instructions
Adopt quality standards to evaluate the completed sample
Measure throughput of samples through the section
Update the relevant databases
Communicate the progress of work being done, and the results with the customer
Operator Machine Care duties
Monitor levels of consumables required in the section, and obtain relevant quotations
Conduct method and equipment validation studies
Highlight Quality issues to management
Perform all work and tasks in accordance with SHEQ standards
Participate in Practical Problem Solving
Participation in Safety and Health Programs
Apply 6S to World Class Standards
Full Participation in Visual Management Programs
Record Keeping and Reporting

Anglo American Metallurgical Analyst Job Requirements

Anglo American Metallurgical Analyst job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Required qualifications include:
National Diploma in Metallurgy
Any further production, technical and computer related qualifications will be advantageous.
2 years training/exposure in Metallurgy is a requirement.
Practical Problem Solving (PPS) skills at white belt level will be advantageous.
Physical property measuring skills will be advantageous.
Criteria and Skills

Ability to work with measuring equipment and various tools/jigs
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work independently and in a Team
Ability to work with a microscope
Good communication skills (Both verbal and Written)
Computer literacy in Windows and MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook
Ability to work accurately
Honesty, hard work and willingness to learn are key attributes required
