About Purpose of Position: Principal Strategy Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
The Principal Strategy function is responsible to set the strategic context for the Strategy office, working closely with the CEO and EXCO in providing data and recommendations directed at the achievement of our strategic goals and the change management required to drive the strategy at all levels in the organisation.

The key purpose of the Principal Strategy is twofold:

Continuous evaluation of changes to the business strategy to ensure Kumba’s competitiveness and long-term viability in the global iron ore market, aligned to the broader Anglo-American strategy
Establishment and management of a PMO office to support the successful implementation of the approved strategy
Key tasks of the Principal Strategyrole are:

Implementation of the defined strategy.
Provide EXCO with visibility on the progress of strategic initiatives throughout the organisation
Continuous evaluation of changes to the business strategy to ensure Kumba’s competitiveness and long-term viability in the global iron ore market, aligned to the broader Anglo-American strategy
Establishment and management of a PMO office – implementation of the approved strategy and overall management of the programme
Overseeing set up, scoping and resourcing of Strategic Initiatives
Site engagement which includes travelling to Kumba in the Northern Cape
Change management

Anglo American Principal Strategy Job Requirements

Anglo American Principal Strategy job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Matric
A relevant 4-year degree in Finance or Mining Engineering
Post graduate qualification in Business Management will be a strong recommendation
Experience:

Relevant experience which should include senior management
Strategy Development including the successful management of a sub-functional team
At least 5 years’ experience in a mining environment (or similar capital-intensive industry)
Technical Knowledge:
