Job Description:
The purpose of this role is to manage the team responsible for designing, refining and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that lead to resilient, agile and safe Physical Supply Chain capability.

Key tasks include:

Performance & Delivery

General

Translate and ensure the execution of the Physical Supply Chain business strategy that transforms operational execution with the aim to raise capability to world class standards though a strategy that defines critical tasks, performance targets, plans and budgets with consideration of risk identification.
Supply Chain Strategy, Critical Tasks, Targets

Identify and manage the execution and rollout of technology and innovative practices and services though cross-functional collaboration across the region that supports business strategy, operational and safety improvements
Support the implementation of materials planning capability and roll-out to end user in the region
Design, build and implement a central reporting platform that enables visibility and the management of key KPIs in line with overall business strategy
Design and ensure implementation of new standards and tasks requests
Provide inputs and guidance to COE with respect to standards and policies for global implementation
Support the roll-out of the Anglo American Operating Model, via participation in site implementations and cross-site best practice sharing, to leverage tangible working capital benefits.
Sustainability & Social

Ensure inventory optimization to decrease wastage at the operations by holding the right amount of inventory thereby positively impacting Anglo American’s carbon footprint
Ensure network optimization of our logistics providers to reduce transportation frequency which also contributes to the positive impact of our carbon footprint
Drive sustainable change through initiatives such as zero waste to landfill
Identify opportunities to encourage host community participation in the PSC network
Commercial Value Delivery

Provide input and guidance to sourcing and purchasing teams on optimal fulfilment strategies for commodity classes
Socialise and embed culture of planning and fulfilment within areas such as purchasing, sourcing, end users, etc.
Oversee warehousing cost, maintenance and/or internal budgets
Relationship Management

Ensure seamless integration with stakeholders (including end users) to support the effective implementation of the Anglo American Operating Model
Foster constructive relationships with site functions and engage other global/regional/local T&S and IM Regional Logistics & Performance Manager stakeholders to drive change
Provide guidance to parties on materials planning, warehousing and transportation
Ensure cross-functional engagements to support optimum Physical Supply Chain practices
People & Teams

Manage and advise a regional team of specialists
Ensure relevant key performance areas are understood, agreed to and embedded as part of the team+ culture
Build team capabilities that will enable resilient and agile competencies with the aim to future proof the materials planning efficiency
Manage the teams responsible for the reporting, analysis, transport scheduling, and overall co-ordination of warehousing and logistics which includes optimisation of delivery routes and or hand oversites, this includes MSP/3PL where applicable
Governance & Compliance

Manage compliance to internal Anglo American and Supply Chain Governance and external legislative requirements for all team members and pertaining to all Physical Supply Chain activities in set portfolio
Safety, Health & Environment

Lead by example, perform visible felt leadership and incentivise an unconditional safety culture across Supply Chain and our supplier base
Identify opportunities for improved safety with the primary aim of achieving zero harm across all our operations such as how much and where hazardous items are stored or transported Regional Logistics & Performance Manager

Anglo American Regional Logistics & Performance Manager Job Requirements

Anglo American Regional Logistics & Performance Manager job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Qualification:An undergraduate qualification – Bachelor degree level or equivalent

Experience: Proven track record of extensive practical experience in relevant field, ideally Mining or heavy engineering sectors.

Technical Knowledge:

Indepth experience of overall Supply Chain discipline with specific reference to Logistics operations
Experience of Logistics & Transport as senior management
Operational Excellence/Business Improvement experience in an industry with a complex inventory profile, high-criticality items and rigorous policy requirements
Experience of developing and implementing policies, standards, reporting, KPIs & procedures
Experience in demand forecasting and planning abilities
Ability to process and manage high complexity scenarios and projects
Good working knowledge of materials planning systematic capabilities and systems, i.e., demand algorithms and statistical models
Working knowledge of desired systematic capabilities and systems for warehousing, transport and materials planning
Ability to analyse complex data and make recommendations to solve issues and implement improvements
Experience in a complex industry with poor inventory turnover / stock velocities
Demonstrated understanding of future technology landscape
Advanced understanding of commercial and contractual requirements and nuances for logistics, warehousing and materials planning matters
Knowledge of suitable service levels and expected performance levels from 3PL’s and suppliers
