Job Description:
The main purpose of this role is to manage safe warehousing and transport practices across the region at acceptable costs whilst creating a culture of continuous improvement in how warehousing and transportation is done in Anglo American.

Anglo American Regional Warehouse Manager job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Qualification: An undergraduate qualification – Bachelor degree level or equivalent

Experience: Proven track record of extensive practical experience in relevant field

Desirable: A postgraduate qualification (Honours/ Masters degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity

Technical Knowledge:

Experience at a senior management level in one or more of the following disciplines:​
Warehousing & Logistics​
Transport​ation optimization
Inventory​ optimization
Proven experience of managing multiple warehouse environments
Strong Health & Safety knowledge within warehousing & logistics
Remote management experience
Experience of rolling out/working with EWP (Enterprise Warehouse Management)
Systems knowledge (Ellipse, SAP, Optimiser) desirable​
Management of MSP/3PL​
Working knowledge in a complex industry with high inventory turnover/stock velocities​ (Mining, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, 3PL)
Ability to understand different contexts and adjust behaviour’s appropriately based on that understanding
Effective communicator with ability to build trust and enhance relationships at all stakeholder levels

Key Tasks:

Safety, Health & Environment

Identify innovative opportunities for improved safety with the primary aim of achieving zero harm across all our operations.
Provide a consistent outstanding role model in relation to safety practices with a deep understanding of the importance of safety​
Drive the implementation and sustainable roll-out of operational risk management to ensure relevant and up to date safety practices and risk assessments are regularly executed and updated.
Drive safety improvement initiatives and transformative cultural programmes with the aim of eliminating risks and hazards in line with the Anglo American zero harm ambition.
Performance & Delivery

General

Translate the Physical Supply Chain business strategy into an operational excellence and safety strategies that define critical tasks, performance targets, plans and budgets with consideration of risk identification .
Supply Chain Strategy, Critical Tasks, Targets

Develop and lead initiatives that drive continuous improvement in line with Supply Chain working capital and optimisation ambitions.
​Manage varying levels of performance, embedding technology, people and/or process to drive performance optimization​.
Manage Key contractors such as MSP/3PL to lead performance improvements.
Manage and coordinate cross functional teams, to ensure optimal supply and availability of inventory.
​Identify cost levers and improvement areas.
Sustainability & Social

​Ensure inventory optimization to decrease wastage at the operations by holding the right amount of inventory thereby positively impacting Anglo American’s carbon footprint.
Ensure network optimization of our logistics providers to reduce transportation frequency which also contributes to the positive impact of our carbon footprint.
​Drive sustainable change through initiatives such as zero waste to landfill.
Identify opportunities to encourage host community participation in the PSC network
Commercial Value Delivery

Provide input and guidance to sourcing and purchasing teams on optimal fulfilment strategies for commodity classes​.
Socialise and embed culture of planning and fulfilment within areas such as purchasing, sourcing, end users, etc. ​
Approve and manage warehousing cost, maintenance and/or internal budgets​
Guidance on contract awards through the contracts team and/or councils.
Relationship Management

Ensure seamless integration with stakeholders (including end users) to support the effective implementation of the Anglo American Operating Model.
Build and manage cross-functional relationships to support optimum Physical Supply Chain practices​.
Act as interface and foster cross-collaboration across Supply Chain and Operations teams with the aim of improving performance and ensuring operational requirements are fully considered.
People & Teams

Manage the teams responsible for the analysis, transport scheduling, and overall co-ordination of warehousing and logistics.
Build team capabilities that will enable resilient and agile competencies with the aim to future proof the materials planning efficiency.
Governance & Compliance

Manage compliance to internal Anglo American and external Supply Chain Governance requirements for all team members and pertaining to all Physical Supply Chain Management activities in set portfolio.
