Job Description:
The Senior Technical Buyer will be responsible to technically evaluate equipment received for repair and to determine suitable source of supply for RFQ’s as well as assisting in the witnessing of testing where required, negotiating, placing and expediting Purchase Orders for materials for Debmarine, DBGS and Namdeb operations.

Anglo American SCC Senior Technical Buyer job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Qualified artisan (or similar) with relevant experience within the mining or marine environment.
Diploma in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management would be advantageous.
Knowledge and experience required:

Extensive buyer experience.
Relevant technical experience in a Marine and/or Mining environment- advanategeous.
Relevant procurement experience in a Marine and/or Mining environment – advantageous.
In depth knowledge of Marine Mining processes and material requirements, class requirements and statutory marine regulations – advantageous.
Knowledge of SAP and MS Office package.

SCC Senior Technical Buyer Job Responsibility for Anglo American Job Vacancy

Key responsibilities include:

Receive, verify and action approved purchase requisitions for the repair of equipment and where necessary the purchase of spare parts, material and supplies.
Identify and select appropriate sources of supply; submission of Requests for Quotations (RFQ’s).
Perform technical and commercial evaluation of quotes received in consultation with end users.
Negotiate trade terms and discount structures with vendors.
Deliver cost savings.
Monitor price and other market movements.
Administration including but not limited to updating and maintenance of procurement and tender documents.
Supplier audits and evaluations.
Provide advice and guidance to customers pertaining to equipment failures analysis and improvements.
Ability to analyze and interpret drawings, data and equipment failures.
Assessment of stripped equipment and components i.e. ensuring that OEM parts are supplied to conduct repairs on equipment.
