About Purpose of Position: Section Manager Engineering Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
In fulfilling the Section Engineering Manager role, you will be responsible for major work scope development and planning ensuring engineering general services is optimised and delivered whilst adhering to all safety and legislative requirements through:

Ensure effective asset availability and reliability of the section.
Liaise with your production or processing teams and account for the performance of the section under your responsibility
Improve maintenance tactics through defect elimination and drive maintenance execution excellence through rigorous planning to ensure on-time and high-quality safe execution
Collaborating with other Engineering sections to identify opportunities to improve the Technical, Commercial and People performance of the Business
Implementing, monitoring and managing the shift handover process and standby arrangements for the section
Contributing to continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives and projects to ensure best practice engineering processes are in place
Ensuring that efficient and accurate processing of task as per schedule to agreed site or staging area. Timeous return of tools, surplus materials & reconditionable items.
People management through the assessment of training needs and implementation of training programme, manage contractors and service providers to ensure maximised outputs in order to deliver projects within the timeframe and budget management to ensure effective cost control and savings
Lead zero harm in Safety through active participation in relevant safety audits, incident investigations, inspections and observations, address issues as part of demonstrating safety leadership and ensure adherence to Mine Health and Safety Act and Basic Conditions of Employment Act legal requirements

Anglo American Section Manager Engineering Job Requirements

Anglo American Section Manager Engineering job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Completed grade 12,
Tertiary qualification BSc/BEng/BTech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree is essential
GCC (Mines and Works) is essential
Driver’s License
Experience Required:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining engineering maintenance (heavy mobile equipment or Plant/Processing environment).
HME / Opencast/Plant or Processing experience will be beneficial
Asset Management experience will be beneficial
Strong operational / execution management a requirement
Experience in SAP systems is advantageous
Experience MS office proficiency
