About Purpose of Position: Senior Engineer Reliability Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
The role performs a service function to the production and maintenance functions, purposed to employ sound reliability engineering principles and methods, to optimise the risk of poor performance and reliability to production plan and budgets caused by equipment reliability issues. Additionally, this role performs a service function to the production and maintenance functions, purposed to employ sound reliability engineering principles and methods, to optimise the risk of poor performance and reliability to production plan and budgets caused by equipment reliability issues.

Your responsibilities include:

Service Strategy (Maintenance Tactics)

Leads the risk based, criticality framework implementation
Provide direction and participates in new equipment specifications
Conducts RCM exercises for all new equipment before commissioning establishing the maintenance strategies and task lists to be adopted
Participate in Group wide equipment tactics development and review of primary production equipment
Providing support to the Asset Manager towards setting up and sustaining a pro-active Asset Management Approach, with optimised Preventive (PM) and Predictive (PdM) tactics in place
Confirming Statutory Compliance standards to be met with sites
Assist the Asset Manager to define a rolling 5-year operational Asset Management Strategy and Equipment management/Improvement Plan for the site, revised annually and tracking progress
Develops and reviews RCM based task lists for all critical equipment
Assist and participate in Operational Risk Management Programmes
Leads the development of Life Cycle Cost models for major equipment.
Standards Enforcement and Quality Assurance

Undertake equipment audits and inspections in respect to engineering workmanship, quality and compliance with engineering policies, procedures, specifications and standards
Establishes programs to improve the quality of maintenance work and systems employed striving toward precision maintenance culture
Directs maintenance personnel to continuously evaluate compliance and strict adherence to the established procedures, specifications and policies
Establish a monitoring system to measure maintenance quality and improvement initiatives
Provide technical assistance and direction to other functional groups in order to drive quality improvements and enhance the maintenance function
Prioritise and register the identified improvements within the asset management planning process from audit and analysis findings
Assist the Asset Manager in planning all asset management improvement initiatives in a 5 year rolling plan
Interface with regulatory agencies for complaint investigation and technical interchanges to present the company viewpoint, and during regulatory inspections serve as the subject matter expert.

Anglo American Senior Engineer Reliability job requirements are following:-

You must have:

NQF level 8 qualification – BSc or BEng Engineering Degree (Mech, Elec, Industrial, Process, Chemical) and GCC or MSc Degree (Engineering or Process)
Experience required:

Extensive experience (typically 5 years) in the maintenance of mining and/or plant equipment
Conversant with MHSA and the OHSA acts
Extensive experience in Reliability Engineering roles
Knowledge and skills:

Demonstrated skill in managing people and resources
Demonstrated Business Acumen
Advanced level computer literacy: MS Office Excel / Word / PowerPoint) / Visio / MS Projects
Strong ERP Competencies in the Engineering, Costing, Material Management, Data Warehousing and Projects Modules
Excellent Data Management skills
Excellent analytical skills (Data Mining / Data Interpretation (Translate results into actions)
Accomplished in a broad range of technical skills relating to the engineering discipline
Working knowledge of client disciplines – Mining, Engineering · Valid driving license code 08
Skilled in reliability centred maintenance
Skilled in Root Cause Analysis Causal methods
