About Purpose of Position: Senior Manager Stakeholder Government Relations Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
As a Senior Manager Stakeholder Government Relationswill be responsible for setting direction and providing expert advice on stakeholder material issues, creating internal understanding and appreciation of key stakeholder interests and expectations, identification and management of risks which may adversely impact Anglo American Platinum’s reputation or present challenges in achieving set strategic objectives.

Provide strategic advice on the Anglo American Platinum Stakeholder Engagement and Government Relations strategy, policies, and plans by ensuring alignment with South African legislation, regulation and Anglo American Platinum policies
Provide strategic advice on the regulatory engagements to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and expectations.
Stay abreast of socio-economic political shifts that could impact on Anglo American Platinum
Ensure compliance with environmental and social requirements as relevant to discipline, including commitments to stakeholders.
Support the Social Performance and Permitting teams with their stakeholder engagement strategies and plans
Support the Land Management team with their stakeholder engagements and negotiations with external stakeholders (Communities, Trusts, Communal Property Associations Government, State-Owned Entities) for land transactions over Government owned or community owned land
Manage environmental and social risks triggered by or impacting on discipline and propose mitigation techniques to be incorporated in the site risk management approach Identify and manage environmental and social opportunities relevant for work area, introduce and monitor sustainability initiatives accordingly

Anglo American Senior Manager Stakeholder Government Relations Job Requirements

Anglo American Senior Manager Stakeholder Government Relations job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Postgraduate qualification in Social/Political Business Management Sciences/Law (NQF Level 8) or relevant degree
Advanced Management Program would be advantageous
Qualification in Project Management will be an advantage
Your experience will include:

At least 10 years’ experience of working in stakeholder relations or related discipline which will include:
Extensive experience in related legislation i.e., MPRDA, MHSA, NEMA and NWA
Experience in dealing with external stakeholders at a senior level i.e. (business partners, traditional thorites, and government)
Experience in dealing with internal stakeholders at Senior Management, Executive and Board levels
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects and/or programmes.
Experience in the mining sector (highly desirable)
Knowledge of Relevant Legislation including but not limited to Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), National Environmental Management Act (NEMA), Minerals and Petroleum and Resources Act. (MRPDA), National Water Act (NWA) and BBBEE Act, Public Finance
Management Act (PFMA) and Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) will be an advantage
King Report on Governance for South Africa (Understanding and its application)
An in depth understanding of Socio-political and economic landscape
Knowledge and understanding of role players in the Mining Industry (will be an advantage)
Knowledge of Communication and Engagement strategies
Stakeholder Management
Understanding of protocols and political and executive decision-making processes
Management background
