About Purpose of Position: Snr Logistics Operator Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
The Senior Logistic Operator is responsible for working with the Banksman and Onsetters to move men and material in and out of the cage during shaft operation, shaft examination and repairs, maintaining good housekeeping around the shaft and station areas and also adhere to any related instructions from the Banksman and Onsetters as well as the Logistics Foreman.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Responsible to work with construction team when required to do so.
Responsible during shaft operation in moving of men and material with Banksman and Onsetters.
Ensure that they form part of safe examination, making the area safe as well as maintaining good house keeping
Ensure that all material and equipment for shaft examination and repairs are readily available for safe use.
Assist with the inspection of safety devices on the stations and Bank area
Be readily available in the controlling of the shift and station and bank
Work closely with Shaft Timberman with the cleaning of spillage and dewatering of shaft bottom
Be able to monitor underground dewatering dams and settler dams at shaft area

Anglo American Snr Logistics Operator Job Requirements

Anglo American Snr Logistics Operator job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Education required:

Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification with Mathematics or Maths literacy
Competent B
Valid EB/Code 8 Drivers License
Experience & knowledge required:

Minimum of 1 year’s practical experience in an underground mining environment
Sound knowledge and experience of:
Shaft operations and repairs
Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and standards applicable to underground mining

Other requirements:

Be prepared to work shifts, do standby duties, call-outs, and work overtime as per what the role may require
Must have strong administrative and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure, be independent and a self-starter
Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground. Medical assessment will include vertigo and claustrophobia amongst others. Able to tolerate physical exertion
The post is dependent on the successful completion of the Company’s pre-employment protocol such as qualifications verification, relevant psychometric and technical assessments and security clearance
