About Purpose of Position: Specialist Civil & Structural Engineer Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
As a Specialist Civil & Structural Engineer,you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Manage & govern all Civil engineering processes safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet short term and long-term production objectives.
Implement and contribute to continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives and projects to ensure best practice engineering processes are in place.
Prepare, review, coordinate, check and approve calculations and drawings and specification, to achieve and maintain Kumba’s operational and projects objectives.
Ensuring adherence to Civil & Structural design standards and specifications throughout projects assignments.
Provide compliance assurance, auditing, and inspection services to the operations.
Provide technical input into structural design issues and liaise with Mechanical Department on plant designs.
Ensure all design standards are adhered to and maintained on all projects.
Manage Civil & Structural related consultants & contractors as part of the team to ensure zero harm to workers and minimal damage to property.
Ensure that customer relations are effectively maintained and enhanced to contribute to overall project success.
Ensure that all contracts are in place to monitor actual contractor performance and compare to agree upon requirements.
Creating automated reports where appropriate to track and monitor results and or quantify benefits associated with specific Strategic Initiatives
Develop and test new growth ideas, including technology, for viability in preparation for and to be taken through the various project phases to ensure project success.
Contribute to the development of the Department budget.
Manage the section’s expenditure within the approved budget to ensure effective cost control and savings.
Identify any opportunities for improved cost management and either address these or raise them with your manager.

Anglo American Specialist Civil & Structural Engineer Job Requirements

Anglo American Specialist Civil & Structural Engineer job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Engineering Degree / Equivalent NQF 6 or higher
Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Technologist
Driver’s license: Code B
Experience

A minimum of 5 years of experience within the Civil & Structural Engineering maintenance environment, preferably within the mining industry.
Experience in providing design input into projects within an EPCM environment
