Job Description:
Supply Chain is a discipline within the organisation that is well placed to impact the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) within the organisation. The role is part of the shared services function supporting across the De Beers Group with mandate to support sustainability and governance protocols in place to ensure that we operate in an informed and risk averse manner. In addition, the role will contribute to enhancing the operations, systems, and processes to ensure relevance and best practices are implemented to optimize these core areas.

The Specialist: Governance and Risk is responsible for leading and coordinating and executing various processes, training interventions, policies to effectively increase governance across the organization and reduce exposure to risk within the business. This includes knowledge management, thought leadership and management of compliance in the respective areas.

Qualifications:
Essential: An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
Desirable: A postgraduate qualification (Honors/ Masters/ Doctoral degree or equivalent) in commercial related field.
Role-specific knowledge and experience:

Experience/exposure to Supply Chain Procurement processes and system applications.
Project Management experience.
Good change and relationship management capability.
Extensive relevant professional experience leading an initiative within a global and multidisciplinary context.
Understanding of governance structures, legislative requirements and the dynamics within the industry.
Risk Management experience.
Intermediate SAP proficiency.

Specialist: Governance and Risk Job Responsibility for Anglo American Job Vacancy

Key responsibilities include:

Identify, analyze and recommend areas for improvement relating to end-to-end business processes, standards, workflows, systems and end-user experience that will reduce complexity, enable better consistency, streamline processes and drive better automation.
Draft, maintain and embed policies and procedures.
Assist in driving effective change through the organization that will promote the use and adoption of business processes, standards and system solutions.
Develop and roll out the annual implementation plan; facilitating training for ‘relevant’ employees and create awareness amongst staff, ensure compliance and investigate possible contravention and recommend remedial action; review of policies in terms of applicability and currency.
Facilitate, enable and promote the adoption and implementation of the Responsible Sourcing standard for suppliers of goods and services.
Enable and facilitate the annual process with DBGS customers. Information consolidation, focusing on improving the SLA Process (SLA drafting, coordinating and engagement).
Facilitation all supply chain audits and manage audit findings and resolution.
Ensure comprehensive supply chain risk facilitation and mitigation
Drafting and review of Supply Chain policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency of application. Assist and guide in the development, rollout and implementation of new / changed policies and procedures (internal and external to Supply Chain).
Ensure accurate and timeous reporting to an executive standard for all supply chain strategic reporting.
