About Purpose of Position: Survey Technologist Jobs at Anglo American

Job Description:
As a Survey Technologist, you will be responsible for the following:

Manage, control, and plan all RPAS activities on the mine including legislative permits.
Identify, investigate, test, and roll out best practice spatial technology including drones, sensors, remote sensing equipment, autonomous equipment and associated software
Manage an effective maintenance and calibration program for all survey technologies including drones, scanners and Totals stations.
Ensure the necessary processes are in place to confirm and continuously monitor spatial accuracy of survey technologies. Including QAQC and calibration of equipment.
Ensure the necessary processes are in place to ensure skills transfer and training takes place on all RPAS technologies.
Identify gaps and shortcomings with new survey technologies.
Actively advise and support the Technical and Geology department as well as Mining Department on application and uses of survey data to advance efficiencies and/or improve planning and extraction processes.
Actively participate along the full mining value chain to enable the identification opportunities for the application of Survey spatial data and technologies that supports the Anglo-American vision.
Provide training on new survey technologies.
Continuously assess and monitor skill levels to ensure technology deliverables are met.
Demonstrate behavior in line with health, safety and environmental standards and with Company and Group values
Participate in relevant safety audits, inspections and observations, and address issues as part of demonstrating safety leadership.

Anglo American Survey Technologist Job Requirements

Anglo American Survey Technologist job requirements are following:-

Qualifications:
Tertiary Qualifications
BTech or B Degree in Surveying or Mineral Resource Management or
NHD Mineral Resource Management or
NDIP Survey.
Valid RPL (Remote pilot license) with a B-VLOS endorsement.
Valid AVSEC certification
Valid Dangerous Goods certification
Valid RMT (Remote Maintenance Technician) certification will be advantageous.
Accepted MSCC candidate or meeting the requirements to apply for acceptance will be advantageous
Valid South African Driver’s license
